Robert Waldrop

Capt. Robert Waldrop serves with the Jim Wells County Sheriff’s Office in South, Texas, where he is a full-time interdiction officer.  He began his career in 2011 as a Deputy Sheriff with Jim Wells County, became a K9 handler for the agency in 2013 and has served in various positions within the agency working his way up to the rank of Captain in 2019 in the Criminal Interdiction Division.

Capt. Waldrop has made hundreds of interdiction cases in South Texas, identifying “Transnational Smugglers” and has become an expert in recognizing the Tradecraft and Countermeasures deployed by members of the world’s most sophisticated smuggling organizations. 

During his tenure and while working in the Southwest Border area, he has personally interdicted hundreds of pounds of illicit drugs being transported in sophisticated hidden compartments, nearly $6 Million Dollars in illicit drug proceeds, and has intercepted hundreds of undocumented aliens, who had entered the United States illegally. 

Capt. Waldrop regularly conducts joint investigations with federal partners such as the FBI, DEA, DHS/HSI and many other components of the US Intelligence Community to combat smuggling efforts by Drug Trafficking Organizations.
